Are you looking for a rewarding volunteer opportunity? Have you been yearning to put your talent in leadership, community development, strategic thinking, financial forecasting, organizational evaluation, or policymaking in the service of a great cause? Are you looking to become involved in women’s empowerment, meet kindred spirits, stay connected and support community-focused programs and services to support the wellness and growth of marginalized and vulnerable women in Manitoba, Africa, and around the world?

Well, look no further! If you are committed to supporting the delivery of programs and services that enhance the quality of life of women and those they love and care for in our community and beyond we are looking for you!

Women for Women of South Sudan is looking for supporters like you to join our board of directors. Since 2011, our volunteer board has been the heart of our organization, promoting the educational, healthcare, economic and social status of all women to attain gender equality and human rights.

We are committed to delivering real results, responding to changes in our community and always acting with the highest ethical standards to be worthy of our public support.

If you share similar convictions, then you’ll find board service very fulfilling. We are looking for leaders who will commit around 40 to 50 hours per year to:

◊ Attend and actively participate in bimonthly board meetings.

◊ Serve on select sub-committee on specific aspects of organizational development (e.g. financial management, resource mobilization)

◊ Advocate for our needs in the community and among your colleagues and peers

◊ Oversee the operational and financial performance of our work attentively and with compassion.

◊ Learn more about programs and services that would benefit our community as well as non-profit governance.

◊ Collaborate enthusiastically with like-minded supporters of women’s rights and empowerment.
